Indian student beaten up, robbed in Australia
Press Trust of India, Monday May 11, 2009, Melbourne
An Indian student was beaten up and robbed by a group of teenagers in a moving train, media report said on Monday.
Sourabh Sharma, 21, who came to Australia a year ago to study hospitality, was brutally bashed when six thugs confronted him in the train.
"They asked me for cigarettes. I said I had none, then they said, 'Why the f--- did you come here?' then they were saying 'Kiss my foot' and started kicking me and punching me," he was quoted as saying in the report.
"I was crying out for help but nobody would help me. They punched me in the teeth and kept kicking me. I said take my watch, take my wallet, but there were five or six of them and they kept just beating me," Sourabh said.
He said the gang, all aged about 16, then jumped off at a western suburb station.
Sharma was left bleeding with fractured cheekbone and shattered teeth. He was taken to a hospital.
The attack follows a growing number of assaults on Indian students, particularly in the western suburbs.
I say F7ck u to Australian Police and their stupid laws. I say australia, please dont exploit poor citizens from lesser developed countries to feed your lazy population and still dont want to protect them,
One day your source of internation student income will run dry and we will see where u goint o get your money to run your universities and schools. I say fark u kevin Rudd , the bastad
International students living in fear in Newcastle

University of Newcastle vice-chancellor Nick Saunders said that since then, the university had established a student safety committee, was part of multicultural day in Jesmond and liaised with student leaders. It had also commissioned a study on its impact on surrounding suburbs.
Professor Saunders said intolerance was a problem at universities across Australia, not just Newcastle.
"It's absolutely despicable to see people from other countries being treated with intolerance and abuse," he said. "It's an issue which all of us need to be concerned about, largely for reasons of humanity than reasons of the [international student] market."
He said the university was trying to promote multiculturalism and the contribution of international students, and that negative incidents originated from a minority of people.
People get beaten up everywhere lar, how many manage to make the papers?![]()
马善被人骑 人善被人欺
In australia, the police is very slack.
And this gives those goons the power to do crime and get away with it.

In singapore, if you beat the crap out of someone, but don't at least break his nose, that someone has to go thru all the trouble to file a civil suit against you, then the police will do something.![]()
everyone say hi to our old fren
Violent people are not humans and should not be treated as such.
These 16 year old sub-humans should be locked up with the animals in a zoo and feed poo for life.
next time the aussies go india they bao si one~ lols! then come singapore we sure rip them off the pockets and take the cash.
the best defense

why fight when u can love?if they bite...then bite them back,,,make sure u dont let anyone live to tell.life is simple...like a box of chocolates.
sharma probably looked at them like in spore staring incidents.he probably would get same thing if he studied in spore.....
a 21 year old got beaten up by 16 year old kids??/i think sharma should have stayed back in india.
aussies are normally frightened of singaporeans due to fact that singaporeans are more violent, hardwerkin, almost superhuman and smarter than any other asians they have come across.almost a threat to aussie life according to darwins laws.
to think lee kuan yew,,,the pap n the "leader " of singapore sold off their own singaporeans cheaply in order to get people from india and all those softies to build up singapore!
and singaporeans speaK BETTER ENGLISH TOO!
why dun sharma just stay home!if he cant kill.....then be killed!i go with this mentality in thailand, burma,oz etc etc..
i have met with salesmen in thailand,,,,,neo nazis in oz ...malay racists in spore..... . ...n death many times without being hurt even.i have yet to clobber them.........why???because they are only human and strangely they are very much the same as those people found in singapore.
strange but true!
I think its their native people who are doing this, when I went to Aus earlier this year, the roudy buches of people are always the natives. I say give them more education, more then what they are getting now!
that's a common cases when you study oversea.
No one will come to help.
Stay in group will be safer.

It seems that many of these westerners still believe in white superiorty.
Well, when these troublemakers keep getting away scot-free, I don't see any reason for them to stop their cruel actions. Speaks a lot for Aussie polices.
firstly, I hope the victim is recovering well.
I have studied in Oz for 2 yrs, and there are many incidents where I feared for my safety. But god bless, I am okay.
Most times, I got asked to "go home". and I do believe they mistaken asian chinese for the refugees or vietnamese who have streamed into their land. And some vietnamese do stand their ground, and not afraid to react when provoked. So that created an image for asian chinese.
The key is still with the parenting and education. I do get invited to some of the aussie homes, and some do treat me with equal respect which I truly appreciates.
Not all are bad, but being in their waters, we have to thread carefully.

Yeah, from what I see, those teenagers were probably looking for a fight and picked the Indian toe let it out on. I have seen my share of dickheads in Perth and feel something needs ot be done to keep the city streets safe.
I also feel the pain....But seriously to those group of "gangster" i hope you learn your lesson if you were him.
