Soccer match up puzzle
For a soccer match, there are 5 countries. Each country sent 2 teams.
Hence there are total of 10 teams.
We need a way of playing to distinguish 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for these 5 countries.
How can games be played such that we can fairly distinguish 1st 2nd 3rd, 4th, 5th country position?
No teams from the same country can play against each other
random match up, coin tossing are allowed

How about playing it in a league format, such that each team will have to play 8 other teams, excluding the other team from the same country as themselves?
The winners get 3 points, a draw will results in 1 point each, and a loss will results in zero points.
After all the games are played, we will add the points of both teams together, along with their GD, GF, GA, amount of W/D/L matches.
The winning country will be the one with the highest total points, and in case of a tie, the following factors will be compared in the given order until one country has a certain factor higher/lower than the other country :
1) Goal Difference
2) Goal For
3) Goal Against
4) Amount of matches won
5) Amount of matches drawn
6) Head-to-head record
