Are there anybody here working as a Cisco Police Officer?
Cisco told me that to be a Cisco Police Officer I need to be Pes A or B. For me I am Pes C so I can only apply to be security guard.
Has anybody here try to lie to them about Pes status? Did they found out that you are lieing?
I am thinking of doing that. Because I feel that Cisco is not able to check with mindef on your pes status, unlike if you join SPF, SCDF etc they have the resources to check with mindef on your pes status

And what makes you think they cannot cross-check with Mindef, given that Cisco is an 'important' part of SG's security?
Even if you successfully lie your way through now, if you get caught someday, you will be given a nice blackmark along with being kick out.
If your health problems are not serious, why don't you just try to up your Pes?

Up Pes status also no use cos spectacle degree more than 500 degree they also don't accept.
I think they won't be so stringent abt the eyesight part, abit over, think they still can accept ... IMO though ...

Sorry, I abit blur.
What is the difference between security guard and police officer? One can carry gun the other cannot? Pay difference? Uniform different? (I assume you referring to CISCO security and not those security guards and condos)
Also curious myself what's the job scope - those "guards" at the bank - are they police officers or security guards?

I not sure also.
Cisco police officer earn more money as they carry arms than Cisco security guard who don't carry arms but Cisco Police Officer earn less than SPF Policeman.
The guards at the banks are Cisco Police Officer.

You never told me your eyesight problem to begin with...
Just like what nighthawkies said, you can fix that up at Lasik.

SPF policeman need to do OT meh?
They can claim with time off mah
Time off also not the dates you want.
Oh you.
The ultra smart fella asking about HDB flat.
1. You need to show your certificate of service for your NS. So Yes. Lying to them is no use. They will eventually find out. They are required to check with the Mindef that you are allowed to join them, have no issues and is bound to show up that you lied.
2. If you lied to them. It means you did a false declaration of your status. They can either sack you (or mess with you till you finish your training then sack you.) Charge you for false declaration in court, or close one eye and accept you thru you dont meet their criteria.
3. Actually Cisco is errmmmm....staffed with actual seconded there police officers. What makes you think they cannot link and find out about your lies?

Highly unlikely scenario.
What if a robbery occured and the TS was shot? ( Touchwood )
They would trace TS's records, and upon realising that there is a problem with his Pes, they would trace down and deal with the ones who have allowed TS to slip through.

1. this shows how stupid to the core you are. NS certificate of service don't show your pes status ok, small boy. Small boy like you who haven't serve ns should shut up, go serve ns first before coming to forum and make a fool of yourself.
2. That is, if they manage to find out that you lied. But obviously it depends on who the person in cisco is. If the Cisco staff is someone as dumb as you, he will never be able to find out even if someone do lie to them :)
3. Well, the seconded police officers in cisco is errmmmm maybe an idiot like you who don't know how to check your pes status :)

It doesnt show?
When did that happened? I always see ex-NS fellas with the Pes status on their COS. Or maybe because I only dealt with senior fellas.
2. So now you are suggesting that someone on Cisco HR staff is dumb enough to have let others like you who lied pass thru their selection process. Since this is the case, and it can be proven, I am sure Xunni will get full credit for blowing the whistle. But if there is no such case. Does it mean that Xunni made a slanderous remark on CISCO and is putting himself up for prosecution?
Maybe Xunni is too free. But I understand, that in Singapore. If you made a disapraging remark on gahment services, even for privatised services. That person can be nicked out and forever be banned from receiving any gahment services projects.
Wanna bet that it can happen or not?

I am seeing round 2 : man vs kitty.
Just don't get me involved, I am the innocent spectator.
LOL, dont worry.
On matter of Cisco recruitment, I guess ever working under its Commander, wont put me as out of point when answering any such questions.
But hey......refering to TS's question.
Is it ethical in any sense, to lie about your status to secure a interview, job, friends or a life partner?
That will be my question.
Does been too free, means its okay to make a nuisance of oneself, pick a fight or advocating that lying is the way to go in Singapore?
Is it just because that you think you can remain behind a computer screen, conduct verbal vandalism, and it will reflect well upon your conscience?
