But unfortunately all of the food in the world is not well-spreaded out.
In some countries, if you are hungry, you could just go to the nearby shop to buy something to eat, whereas in others, you might have to resort to eating the soil you are stepping on to ease your hunger.

Not really. It is more because of rampant corruption.
US has a large population, and they are now going through recession, yet the government is able to squeeze out handouts for those who are jobless.
Angola has a so-so population ( though much larger than SG ), the country is one of African's biggest petrol and diamond producer, yet many people there are starving to death. Btw, it is one of the countries where I dare say the government is even richer than our government here.

Actually, we can also use other methods to change the way we use the food produced.
For instance, in modern pig farms, grain is used to feed the pigs to make them grow faster. Instead of using grain, we can use grass, hormone injections, genetic enhancements, etc.

Not really too. Corruption is always a problem. As always greed takes the better of a man.
In any case if the population increase there will be a point where resources and food will become scarce. So population in the long run still have to be controlled. But on an expansionist type of economics I doubt it.
