Nah I think its quite different.
For this one, it appears someone registered an user just to post he/she getting unfair treatment from the group. Thats why they are sueing for defamatory?
If that's the case, they could contact the forum directly and asked the posts to be removed... it's not like the contact form is nowhere to be found...

By the way, there isn't any law that states website forum must filter potential defamatory statements. Moderators are definitely not the civil case judge to filter these kind of statements.
If that's the case, the law ministry might as well appoint "legal" moderators.
Congrats, they just waste 22 cents sending wrong mail to SG Forums.
