Ya man.. They obviously dunno how to spell "dead". They sue one person, the rest of us sgForums is not gonna stand by and watch..
I just read the letters in the first posts, and I get the impression that these people have no idea how forums work. It is unrealistic to expect moderators or admin to screen every post that is put up. Taking down "defamatory" posts when they are highlighted is enough, why demand an apology? Furthermore, quoting by other members is not tantamount to circulation.
And they haven't done enough research, because if they'd seen the registration page, they'd realise that there is very little information that they get out of Jason. In short, I'm not impressed.

That's a Sept 2008 article stating a police investigation against Harriet. I digged further but couldn't find anymore follow up articles regarding this. Anyone with connections can confirm what's the status of this case?

Let us help Jason... Dig out more dirty things about the organisation.

you concluded the drop in users was due to no upgrade server, no more bandwidth? any other reasons?
i seriously find this case very funny le. cause it is like all the client want is youyayu information and to prove tt they are 'innocent' which is doubtful if they are. I mean if you didnt step on the dog tail will the dog come and bite u for no reason?
From the letter, it seems like they found out who "iamw7" is?
There's a statement which I don't quite understand:
We note your denial of liability. The fact that you do not screen what your users post on your website forum (which is not admitted), does not absolve you from liability for the defamatory material posted on your website forum.
Admitted in what sense?
Anyway, these lawyers are probably not very IT-savvy. Most forums don't collect user's personal data. That means no first name, no middle name (if applicable), no last name, no address.
LOL... they can continue to demand for all they want, but sgforums will have no data to provide.

Moi thinks what they want is YYY's IP address... Then track him/her...

Maybe they read it somewhere on SGF terms and conditions ba

no lah
becos of the decision to bring it up to the papers, it meant that the traffic will go higher, and that may also be a chance for sgf to go back to it's days
i want to see
when will the recruit agencies
and CHC sue me
lol
retarded thread
Well, if that fella paid for a membership, then easier to track down.
But its true. The lawyers wording of their sentences is a bit off.

Letter says this:
"that you disclose the name and full particulars of the members registered under the moniker "youyayu";"

Bank secrecy policy not in effect? Or even Paypal or whatever not?

Bank secrecy not in effect if information need to be summon to court.
Failure to do so,is admission of being responsible for the wrong doer.
I long time never read UK law. But correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah, but since now they know Jason cannot give any info of valuable worth, they would want to pursue his IP address...
IP address, once track, can have vast implications.
BTW, where is the 1st letter dated 11 June?
I read until blur. Who exactly is asking for who and what?
I thought the whole hoo hah was over that Iamw7 fella?

The fact that you do not screen what your users post on your website forum (which is not admitted).
From here the "which" might mean what the users post, and "admitted" may mean that the user did not admit that he/she posted that.
OR
the user did not enter that, but just copy and paste from somewhere?
off topic abit:
does not absolve you from liability for the defamatory material posted on your website forum.
if the forums never screen what the users post, can say the forum hold no responsibility to that is being posted here on the screen.?
If the forum hold no responsibility, in the first place the server will not store their informations liao
but sgf can give ppl ip add one? need legal documents to do so?

Cannot or will not?
Will not will have implications on Jason and the Jeyel Marketing.
Even IP addresses is not foolproof.

There was no screening?
So whats the point of mods again?

the letter says "the fact that there are no screening"
so now have screening or not?
