how old till people stop getting allowance from the parents?
i see lots of my peers (uni going kids) who travel to places like europe etc for holidays with friends.
where do they get the money from? do their parents actually pay for the whole damn trip?
esp considering how even if they have part time jobs, chances are the pay will be lousy anyway.
and they can still afford to shop and go out to eat a lot when in singapore...
how much be the average allowance kids get these days?
If I work and earn my income, I don't take a cent, I give back instead. Same when I was in NS, with that measly allowance.![]()
yesh, i have always wondered where the money comes from too.. especially for holidays.. and i found out is the money come from red packets that they saved up.. from cny to birthdays la to don't know what else..
and usually its they pay for air tix and hotel.. then their parents would like give cash for shopping and the likes.. so good right..
my allowance is $120/wk.. inclusive of everything - transport, textbooks, clothes....
sometimes i feel sad that i can't follow my friends go clubbing or eat out often.. then paiseh have to make some excuse..
if ur folk are rich....
u can carryon leeching on them....
why not you ask them about where they get their money from?
