I'm starting the thread to talk on an unreliable after sale service I experienced over a company that install additional window lock for sliding windows. They are fixed at bottom corner of sliding panel and press down to lock. The potential customers for those fixtures are HDB flats with windows along the corridor, like 3/4 room flats.
After the salesperson Michael is willing to a lower price of 3 locks for $80 (initial $100), my mother agree the deal and we install these locks. Subsequently, one of the lock is damaged and she called Michael quoting the reference no. of invoice. He agreed to trace this transaction and revert later but no reply came.
Subsequently, my mother called him again on saturday when he says he'd be going Hougang at night so he'd probably come round to my place which is nearby. Eventually no reply was heard. Of course, the 2nd occasion is a saturday and maybe after office hours so we wouldn't hold it against him but agree to leave it to weekdays. We shall wait to see if he reply and consider what to do next.
The invoice stated one year warranty for installed products. The main issue is that the company doesn't seem to see responsiblity to do repairs by leaving customers to wait, not replying in due time. I wondered if they really honour the promise of one year warranty.
Since we haven't do any formal report to CASE and this site is a public forum, I decided it better not to name the company. The main point is to share with people especially HDB residents with sliding windows along corridor to be careful and ascertain warranty issues prior to installing such fixtures.
