I lost my wallet (black and white checked) in Geylang area at about 1840 on 29.06.2009. Contains IC, OCBC, DBS, POSB ATM cards, EZ Link and cash. Thief withdrawed SGD5000 from my OCBC account using the lost ATM card.
According to information given by OCBC staff, thief withdrawed money at 1910 at Jalan Sultan OCBC Branch amounting to $5000 using my lost card. He/She then went to the OCBC ATM machine at Lavender MRT Station to make another 7 attempts to withdraw more money. (which obviously failed) I suspect this person isnt a local or is a very ill-informed Singaporean.
The whole process took about 20minutes. I believe this person is either familiar with the Lavender area or he/she could have asked someone for alternative OCBC ATM location.
I urge anyone who noticed any suspicious man/woman hanging around Jalan Sultan or Lavender OCBC ATM machines from about 1910-1930 to come forward to identify this thief.
