  Is there really a lie detector test in singapore?

   

  How does it work?

   

  Is it very accurate like DNA test which is 99.999999% accurate?

   

  Under what circumstances will it be used? For those serious cases such as rape, murder or they will use it on those small cases too?

  There is a lie detector test in Singapore, but it is only used by the Singapore Police Force. On a side note, results from such tests cannot be used as evidence in court.

  During such tests, the interrogated person will be asked questions, and if he is lying, his pulse will go abnormally high, and that will be detected by the machine.

  This test is not extremely accurate due to the fact that some people panic very easily, and others know how to keep their calm even when they are lying.

  This test can be used for any cases by the police, as it is up to their discretion, though usually they won't use it if they can come up with ample evidence to deal with the suspect(s).

  How you know all these? You work as a police?

  Any policeman can use the lie detector? Do they need to get permission from their commander etc? If not the policeman may abuse it..

  Common knowledge. SPF is the only one who uses them.

  The policeman can only use it on an accused during criminal investigation and not whenever they want.

  Lie detector test is not full proof and the police have other ways to see whether a person is lying base on just their actions and behavior without using that test which is not too accurate.

  Well trained and experienced policemen can just observe ur actions and there are telltale signs which i will not mentioned. This is according to my psychology friend who attended a talk about how the police detect whether a suspect is lying or not.

  The police cannot go to court and say from my experience I know that the person is lieing.

  He still needs concerate evidence to support himself

  It will encorage us to lie more often so that we will nt get an unstable heart beats during the test
