  2000.

  But few knows Maersk is back!!

  Did Maersk Line move out of Singapore completely in favor of the Malaysian Port of Gelang Patar - which supposedly presented a lower cost center where Maersk can control their own port operations ?

  The pussy should read up more on the organisation of the Maersk Group before making so much unnecessary noise.

  If Maersk had moved out of Singapore completely, why should there be any need for renewing the appointment of a new Country Manager for Singapore ?

   

  ‘Copenhagen: The A.P. Moller – Maersk Group today announced the appointment of Henrik Jensen as the new Maersk Line Country Manager for Malaysia and Singapore, and Thomas Lindy Sorensen as the new Maersk Line Country Manager for Thailand.

  In their new roles, Jensen and Sorensen will be responsible for customer service, sales and operations for Maersk Line in their respective countries. They will both will report directly to Jesper Praestensgaard, ceo for Maersk Line Asia-Pacific, who said, “We need to make it easier for our customers to do business with us and I am confident that both Henrik and Thomas will deliver on this. Apart from having a simpler organisational structure, modernisation of the shipping industry holds the key to less complex container shipping. Maersk Line is standardising documentation, data flow and processes across the entire transportation chain. When shippers are able to depend on these standards, container shipping will become easier and more cost-effective.”

  The new appointments are part of the Maersk Line organisational redesign ‘StreamLINE’ introduced in January this year. Maersk Line, which has been re-organised from 14 Areas to 11 Regions globally, and country organisations believes that the new organisational structure will reduce complexities and bureaucracy and benefit customers.
