hi.does anyone here know of any tailor who can tailor make 2 prom dresses at a reasonable price and a considerably fast rate?
when u nid e dress?
if u want reasonable n fast, go buy OTR
if bcos u have exceptional figure, it is reasonable and faster if u buy OTR then alter
OTR = off the rack
early december.i have my own designs.
and wat is reasonable price to u?
$200 with swarovski crystals and italian silk and french lace?
Why make when you can get reasonably nice ones from say Mango? ![]()
This Fashion got oso
even more reasonably priced
but ppl got own design worrrrrrrr
hmm because i got my last prom dress for over 100 dollars and i only wore it once,i don't want to repeat that again, and i heard that tailor-made dresses would be cheaper?i don't know..and no..i don't need my prom dress to be 200dollars,i'm not earning yet.
thanks caleb,btw.
By the way, you can never go wrong with the LBD.
Just accessorize and the combinations are limitless. ![]()
tailormake can be cheaper or more asspensive
depends on your design, how much blings u put on it, wat type of cloth, the cut, the details......
if ur idea of tailormake is just to sew a few pieces of cloth together, add a zip, then probably tt matches ur idea of cheap

She is on a budget what.
You want to win prom queen then you got to go with designer stuff from D&G, Gucci or DKNY. ![]()
prom queen blows $500 on a tailormade dress
Okay... I think you need to seek tailors for quotation ba... but generally tailor made is often more expensive than ready made.
Google "Singapore affordable prom dresses" and see what you get. ![]()
Its probably cheaper to buy off the rack and alter it to your sizes.
Even good tailors can't do less then $200/- when you have a specific designs in mind.
If its a simple spag gown with your own materials, it still cost somewhere $200/-.
And you should also budget in accessories for hair, make up, shoes & bags.
LBD with some accessories.
Less is more. ![]()
And since the prom is in December. Might as well you go around to find out.
There is seamstresses at Tanjong Pagar Market/Hawker Centre, they do fairly good work at creating chanel and gucci office wears, but they are very busy, (You can see from their shop how busy swamped they are.) And I doubt it will be within your budget.
I prefer going to the seamstesses at City Plaza to make a brand new garment.
Katong Shopping Centre has seamstresses and tailors too, and they also have plenty of ready made garments they can alter to your sizes. Though they are more traditional stuff like cheongsums and sarong kebayas.
Chinatown MRT there, next to OG, also have a few floors of folks selling cloth and seamstress/tailoring service, so you and your friend should take some time walking thru there.
There is a 'Just' shop I think they sell gowns at Chinatown Point. Maybe you should go take a look first, before you decide on tailoring instead.
BTW, if you must tailor, and you are on a budget. Consider tailoring a really ultra simple gown in a interesting fabric and not a black colour. So the gown can be worn onto other occasions.
I got a replica Vera Wang Denim Gown in dark denim blue, for wearing to dinners, weddings & whatever event. Either throw on a cowboy hat and boots for a theme company event, or a simple pashmina shawl for a Raffles Hotel wedding dinner event.
I think OUB plaza at Raffles Place has a corner shop (3rd floor maybe?) that sells dinner gowns/prom dresses and such. Can try there to have a look. Not too sure about prices but at least you can go there to scout for ideas as and when u decide to tailor a dress. ![]()
