Short changed. Acceptable or NOt?

Does anyone out there, bought smth and the supposedly change is that amount, but the seller short-changed you?
For example, i just went to da bao hor fun nearby my house. Den my hor fun is ready, i ask the auntie how much? And she replied $3.
Den I gave her $4, and she return me $0.50.
I don't really mind the short changed , as people are making a living. But i'm confused as she said it cost $3 and still dare to give $0.50 back.
What are your thoughts or anyone experience this before??
perhaps U Die die wan take back ur exact Change?

She probably made a mistake, you also never go and asked, so its kinda your fault you got shortchanged for it.

Hey, maybe you're right. But i assumed that she purposely gave me short changed, because she gave me 20, 20, 10. How Can it be a mistake?

Maybe she was swamped with orders with too many thoughts on her mind so she gave you the wrong change.
Next time, check with her lah.

Although she said 3 bucks to you, she might have got distracted while getting the change for you. You think too much lar, when you got the change back, you couldn've asked "I thought its 3 dollars?" but you didn't, you assumed you got short changed right away, so you cannot really conclude anything.

next time just check with her at that moment dun assume that ppl short changed you

Auntie is trying to train you up to be more outspoken and assertive in your society.

The other thing is, for takeaway orders, sometimes they charge you extra for the plastic bag/plastic spoon etc.

Even so, its still ok to ask, at least you would get a reply, regardless favorable or not.

sometimes these vendors may act blur, yeasterday bought brani, the vendor collected my $50 and passed to another for change, there were other customers so things may be a little busy but the guy who was supposed to give me change took the note and went off to do something, not sure if he was trying to confuse things and the lady who served me handed me my stuff and thanked me without the change, i had to ask for it and she then 'role played' with the guy asking why he hadn't given change then apologised all over....i don't want to cast false accustions but sometimes things can go that way....

Huh Parn, What daughter you are referring to?? It the change is significant amount , of course i will ask her to return me the exact change.
From my point of view, If the act is delibrate, it will be awkward or embarssing to her if i ask her about it. If it's not, den it's my fault.Wow dukeDracula, u gave a $50 note! Must take it back haha!

small things la. i was buying this cupcake than this preety salesgirl said errr its $1 but i don't have change for your $5 note do you have a $1 coin? I see her so preety i said keep the change.. but hey i was rushing for time as well la.

lol. to me. it's unacceptable and kinda rude. It's the customer's decision to give tips or more than the price,dont care if it's 3 bucks or 300.
