most of us learnt our english from PETS coursebook and workbooks (the one where you had to tear out the pages after every exercise, and leave untidy chunks of paper in the booklet).
as we look back in the primary school days we still argue which animal stands for which year, the squirrel for first, mouse for second, and so on.
let's pay tribute to the curriculum that has taught one generation of singaporeans english.
Yea... every level has different animal featured.
Love it! ![]()
mr yakki mr wolllie and miss lala
I remmeber the penmanship exercise
i spent a lot of english class looking for the hidden animal on every other page.
It's a pity I threw them all away.
I almost forgot about these books...
Can't imagine you still remember the squirrel and mouse, who remembers the other 4? Offhand i can't seem to recall anything but now that someone mentioned the squirrel, somehow i seem to recall the colour of the textbook to be yellow and each year it was a different animal with a different colour or something.

I know there's a turtle for Primary 3.
Think P4 was a rabbit?
Was there an Owl for P5 or P6?
Memory seems so foggy about it...
HAHAHA.. fark that book.
i remember using them when i was p1 to p4.
And after every exercise there was a coulumn at the top of the page which required "parents signature"..
My teacher then kept insisting on my parents signing them.
hahaa. I never did bring that freaking book home. Always left them under the desk in class.
tsk tsk tsk
generation gap..........
