Sexism is still being spread in media....
Just recently I saw a McDonalds TV advert......
An ugly guy sit down, and a pretty girl sit next to him, and then she flirted with him....
Typical......
Always, women are depicted as sexual objects, aesthetic objects, visual objects, and they are "Required" to have a higher standard of aesthetic pleasantness, meanwhile the guys can be ugly, disshelved, and lower in aesthetic scale.
This double standard is keep being enforced by the ignorant media.
Not only that but most ads are from male-centric worldview and satisfies their own selfish desires, as if the McDonalds burger eaters are all teenage boys, and no women need to be targetted by their marketing campaign.
I hate this kind of low-IQ, crass, no class, people.
Such ads should be banned from TV.
Sexism hurt both males and females.
ok noted

Do u really think that pretty girl will flirt with the guy in REAL LIFE??

Soooo.. U're saying the guy is ugly? the girl is pretty? Some here might have different opinion...
u obviously nvr work in media before.
mass media like films, advertisements etc. all have very short screen time to pass a message.
even more so for adverts as they are measured in seconds. a 30 second advert will cost several thousands to air.
therefore, as producers, we have to ensure that the required message is passed to the target audience as effectively as possible.
as such, stereotypes have to used as there is no time to build personality and character.
also, they might or might not be targetting males only. but so what? for all you know their marketing report indicates that they have not lost much female customers customers but have lost a lot of male customers recently and so they chose to target the male segment more? or for any other reason for that matter.
its their business, not yours. what's wrong with you. if every advert must target every segment equally then there will be no such thing as a "target market" already.
lastly, by your statements alone, you can see that you're the one who's sexist and all.
what's wrong with a girl flirting with a guy? must it be a guy flirting with a girl?
and you claim that the guy's ugly and the girl's pretty. that is entirely your own sexist view. what if i think the guy is cool and the girl is ugly?
crap. i dunno why i wasted time replying to this crap.
Your justifications are lame and trying too hard.
Of course, as an industry practitioner, you have your own considerations, but dont try to justify too hard or deny what I said.
Thank you very much.
