yeah.. KFC used to serve everything in proper plates and metal cutlery.. it was a nice sit-down place...
there was a Denny's and a Hardee's at Holland Village too.. they closed down...
kinda miss the old bakery in Plaza Singapura.. when Yaohan was there.. we could look in through the glass window and see the bakers hard at work kneading the dough and doing all the baker things
Just recently had a guy went down on one knee to propose.
Though I felt that his proposal wasnt really correct. (Maybe I am just cynical.)
Does anyone of you guys remembers when you actually went down on one knee to propose, and what was the location?
Originally posted by Short Ninja:Thanks for the contribution. If my memory serves me right there was a big pond at Kampong Java years before the first KFC was built and after KFC Shakeys Pizza took over.
Paragon probably had the first modern toilet in SIngapore at that time with the automatic glass doors , hand dryers...30cts entry charge.
The pond was at the otherside of the park along New Cemetery Road (renamed as now as Cavenagh Road).
The First KFC was at Sin Min Rd in early 70s.

I remember making red eggs for a neice 1st month.
My ex hub was failing to dye the eggs with those new fangled food dyes.
I finally was only able to tinge the egg shells a bit by dipping the eggs into red dye after boiling them.
Which of you hear remember how the....
Pre-renovation Marina Square and Plaza Singapore looked like?
Other malls that looked completely different then and now...
a) Marina Square
b) Plaza Singapura
c) Lido
d) Scotts (now nothing)
e) Promenade (now new Paragon Wing)
f) Orchard point? (the OG next to Centrepoint)
Old malls that maintained their basic layout since its completion
a) Far East Plaza, Lucky Plaza, Far East Shopping Centre
b) Centrepoint
c) Raffles City (though undergone heavy renovation)
Old style luggages.....for travelling.

No this is my actual birth date.
Just sneak into the study for a little breather.
Crowded with family and friends. My old girl and sisters are busy in the kitchen preparing a feast.
My 2 cats hiding with me in the study.![]()
