Good? Bad? Cheap?
Do you guys custom-retro-fit your Ikea furniture? Or do u assemble it as it is and wait for it to collapse?
Got one particular IKEA Furniture smell.. I like
affordable, pretty wide range
lasting or not depends on how u use it or take care of it

so-so
tables.. pretty okay..
chairs.. quite good..
beds.. don't even bother..
other stuff like rugs and fittings, pretty good
a very DIY, only for those who really knows how to arrange and match their furnitures. ._.
ikea is for people who hate the software publisher EA as it stands for I Kill EA
i hate EA cos they mess the command and conquer franchise after the bought over westwood
my duvet covers and bedsheets are from there!
I personally feel that the IKEA furniture needs to be improved to make it truly last long; hence i say EXTRA DIY is required:
that means, veneering the fibre board exposed bits, so that they don't get moist in the long term and bend and warp and lose strength.
And the existing screws and pins IKEA provides are insufficient for bookshelves, heavier duty screws need to be used.
i bought this plastic chair from ikea from 30 plus bucks. states that it can handle a maximum of 100kg. i aint nowhere close to it, after using for about half a year, one day i sit on it, lean backwards and it broke. and the chair is only used for 6 months zzz.
Some are good, some are cheap, and most are great for renting place purposes.
Their rugs, comforter & cushion insets are good. Same with their photo frames, candles and cafe food.
Their solid pine wood tables and solid step stool works good.
They suck on beds, but with those prices, designs and probably used for guestrooms or temporary rooms, nothing to complain about.
Shelves are okay, but custom make your wardrobe is best. DIY just kinda dont exactly cut it to make it look luxurious even when it should.
I like their cheap cheap table lamps for creating atmosphere.
Really like their colourful cardboard boxes, plastic storage boxes, tealights and lighting department. With Ikea, I buy with the expectation .. the cheaper I pay, the faster they crumble!
i think they are great
contemporary design
good price for european workmanship
i remember they started off in singapore in the 70s
even my dad who was a china man swear by them
he bought some bookcases and DIY
they lasted us for many years
i am spending close to 7K at ikea for my furniture
I go IKEA not for the sake of furnitures... I go there for hotdogs...
crap wood stuff. Get it wet & the wood furniture breaks almost too soon.
Anyway, the tampines one is crappy.
Crappy staff, crappy service...... & their next door funiture/electronics neighbour store is no different either!
Ikea is for those who want better but can't afford it.

local your head
actually their stuff is made in China and Russia.
But thanks. I am actually looking for beds, and i am told their beds aren't good by other people as well.
their plastic bags need to buy, not given for free when you shopped there.
cheap and nice...
their cups, plates and utensils are cheap.
Tables are hardy, I have been using one for 3 years and it still look strong.
My future house would be "sponsored" by ikea.. haha
assembling costs 20% isnt it? for those who need assembling, it costs more isnt it
im using the ikea kitchen concept..and up till now (cross fingers) still ok, i think main thing is the taking care and depends on how you use it (on furnitures) If you don't take care, things will still spoil what..
Other things like plates/utensils/deco/lamps very good i think..value for money
