Yesterday night I accidentally dropped my spectacles on the floor and the lenses came out. I felt very lucky as my spectacles is the glass type and it drop on the floor but never break.
So today I wear my spare spectacle which the lenses is made of plastic. I went to the same spectacle shop which I bought both spectacles from and ask them to help me to put the lense back to the frame.
After the uncle help me to put back the lense which was in less than 5 minutes, I felt very happy because I have wear this spectacle for 8 years already and I was very comfortable with it whereas when I wear the spare spectacle I did not feel comfortable and felt strange.
But shortly after I left his shop I think less than 10 minutes only, the lense from the spectacle drop down by itself and this time the lense broke.
So there was no way I could bring the lense back to the shop to have it fixed back as the lense has already broke into half. Now I have to continue wearing my spare spectacle.
At that time I felt like going back to the spectacle shop to question the uncle how come after he fix the lense for me less than 10 minutes later it drop out by itself and now it broke into 2 pieces and can no longer be used.
But I didn't do that in the end because I had no evidence that the lense dropped by itself as I was already out of his shop at that time when the lense drop out. So he can just say that I dropped the spectacle myself and than blamed him for it
So no choice lor but to suck thumb.
Now I feel so sian having to wear my spare spectacle which I am not use to.
But through this I learnt 2 lesson.
1. Next time when I want to buy a new spectacle I will go to other spectacle shop.
2. When I make a new spectacle I will make a plastic lense so that at leats if it drops the lense won't break so easily
ok.
brillant article.
Got anybody experience the same situation as me before?

Its a real life story which makes me regretted buying a glass lense instead of a plastic lense 8 years ago

wa TS..
i nvr knew lense can break into 2?!!
im also wearing specs le.. and im using glass lenses. But i rmber last time i jogging then my fren hit my face, causing my specs to drop, at the most got chip.
but ahhh. i think it depends on your degree as well.
last time i make specs, the optician reccomend me on the type of lense based on degree. Now my degree 400 and 350, so considered thick enough to use glass ones.
life is only as good as its lessons
well done my friend, well done
*pats you on the back*
wow, you never increase in degree all these years?
anyway, dun think its the uncle's fault. the screwholes of the specs is probably worn out after so many years. i have a pair of specs where the lens also keep dropping out.

Haiya. Its a matter of luck. This is the 3rd time I drop my spectacles in which the lense came out.
The first 2 times did nto break and I went to the spectacle shop to aks them to fix it back. The 3td time which is today the lense broke into half.
My spectacle degree is even higher than you. Right eye 800 degree plus 400 degree "shan guan", left eye 750 degree plus 350 degree "shan guan"
