do y'all 'celebrate' it?
i know some people who have family gatherings like during CNY...?
eat mooncake?
nope, only eat mooncakes but no lanterns..
Mooncake was eaten weeks before....so nobody in my family is in the mood of celebrating it by eating mooncake again. We went to Chinese Garden but it was raining, so we headed back home.![]()
nope, haven't had a bite of mooncake nor was there any dinner. nothing unusual as we don't really "celebrate" this event, unlike CNy and Xmas.
no big events at the chinese garden tonight although it's still crowded..
This year mooncake fest spirit like very low leh... My house area Hardly got ppl carry lantern around... I also never celebrate this year...
i saw quite a number of people around clarke quay .. with lanterns ..
Economic crisis, folks out of jobs or going to be out of jobs.
Too expensive to celebrate.
has no cultural importance in Singapore, but the same festivities go in full swing in other chinese dominant countries like Taiwan and China.
anyway mooncake is packed with calories and contains a high sugar content, hardly appetizing for Singaporeans getting health conscious
i oni know SCDF quite busy.
and i oni had about 1 mooncake so far
no lanterns or candles or setting playgrounds on fire.
Joke of last evening.
We both have to buy a mooncake each to provide for a gathering.
And my friend was asking the bakery for a traditional mooncake.
I was like looking at him and telling him. Traditional mooncake have sugared pork lard in them.
He looked at me as if I am crazy.
I celebrate with my frenz... go chinatown then at nite go vivo... Light lanterns, play with sparkles like when we were children... Of coz we ate mooncakes too...
Was overall fun la...
