  I think during your time gang fights were very organised.Two rival gangs would go up a hill with their assorted weapon of choice to sort things out.

  During my time,we would fix time and place more like a show of force to see who got more people,weapons limited.

  Now, I think a gang fight could happen just about anywhere anytime where there are a group of teenage school dropouts with nothing to do.

  Old days a lot of gang fights almost every now and then in Chinatown. Frequent fightings at Duxton Hill, Amoy Street, Telok Ayer Street, Tras Street and Boon Tat Street.

  Even gangs had to apply for permit under the guise of an association otherwise they were classified as SS (secret societies)

  saw a huge gangfight about to erupt at circular road behind boat quay. This guy was tearing out his shirt to show his tattoos and he was screaming.......for like 10 seconds.....and still no fight lol. I have already walked off by then haha.

  my gangster friend still go to settle problem once every other night. May be next time I will ask to tag along. lol

   

  usually they try to settle prob 'peacefully' among themselves, and not engage in passerby.
