sorry to sidetrack a bit but the newspapers said that at press time mediacorp did not know how many votes sezali and sylvia had and more importantly how many votes sezali had won by. It's interesting that the organizer would not know this and can declare a winner?
does anyone have similar thoughts or am i just thinking too much...

well, IMO, chinese singers dont have the same quality in terms of vocal power compared to malays? and that chinese generally spend less time concentrating in this form of 'art'. abit of culture influences??

I am glad all winners are malay. Why? Simply because there is very limited market out there for SI winners. Taufik's base market is Malaysia and Hady Indonesia. I am not sure how successful they are. What would a Chinese winner singing English songs appeal to??

really one look atthis thread you know its started and meant for flaming. worse maybe even to brew racist comments and feelings.
i will wait 10 seasons. and see the number of races of applicants. also if a singer is good and has many supporters by sms chances of winning is there.
no doubt the general population of malays in singapore are very keen in music. you see them everywhere playing music.
races aside you see a lot of uncle carry digital cameras around. most are dikopeis either single or married see got girls photo shoot only quickly come hide at one corner snap snap
