Been attending a workshop course and a trainer who's educated in Aussie uni lamented to us about Australia racism...asians not being served in restaurants cause of their race.
Brings me back to a point, it's been said the media been exaggerating the racist incidents in Australia but when you hear too many of this from singaporeans who rather not take up PR is Ozland though they are well qualified, you kind of get jaded about the whole Australian laid back friendly image.
Somehow I think the asian students who are funding their universities will really need to think twice do they really want to go to a country who just want their money but not their asian presence?
Details are required. What restaurants are we talking about here, and how are they rated?
Are you sure it's a matter of racism rather than a simple preference for Singapore by the Singaporeans in question?
As far as I'm aware, the primary objective of the Asian students is to get and education and not to make their presence wanted, so what's your point?
Oh, and what's this guy a trainer in?
I've been to Australia, and yes, racism is present to a higher extent than in other countries. I did have some very minor experiences. And I have a highly educated friend who stayed in US for about 5 years and in Australia since last 3 years. He told me that in US you don't feel any racism at all but in Australia its pretty rampant..
have stayed there for 3 years, my aunt stayed there for 23 years..She said its not that bad...depend son how u talk and behave
yes,,,,,it depends on that person if they like u or not...mostly EQ instead of IQ.the aussies are not ready for the racism equality thing yet.they accept indians that perhaps resemble their european mainly in the skull structure similarities.can we blame them??but their girls talk to you nicely and tend to be more helpful than the guys....dont know why.
but yes i hate to say it but there is rascism of some form from trying to buy hardware at Bunnings to trying to get simple mechanical components in oz itself even from Radioshack australia.oh well....at least thru those difficulties i have found alternate cheaper ways with more variety from overseas due to their short comings.its rather a blessing in disguise in some way or another.
do singaporean males have a choice???with less than 1%/year savings interests in the banks, nonsense frm political ramblings bout jobs for singaporeans ,reservist duties in the army that consumes precious time needed at factories thats running 24hrs a day, high cost of living in spore..............do sporean males have a choice even if australia had a flag flying the swastica?

Exactly my point, she said its not that bad, which means she can feel it. In other countries you don't feel it. I never felt anything in France for that matter. Even if I was like one of the only few Indians walking around.. Neither in Belgium.. But Australia, you can feel it clearly..

Actually sometimes I feel that SOME of them have very low IQ as such they are more prone to show racist tendencies...
ya, the gals are most helpful to guys. and if u r indian guy, they likes u. i say the aussie gals are more helpful than sg gals who give fark care attitude and likes to get free lunch from u. and add on they are much more sexier and prettier than sg gals
it could be possible that their criminal genetics may be a factor.its rather a defect in their thought process that may be transmitted to their offspring.these cant be erased scientifically as seen from their history till now in modern times.
they are still making simple mistakes that are not possible!and thats on the government side.its worse in the private company side.
perhaps this fault might be more permanent as compared to the americans who were majority free willed law abidding people who knew what was right and wrong from history.
and aussie land price is already daylight robbery for a faraway piece of desert land.
haha. yeah what you said might be true Hitman3.. Genes do play a part I guess.. Long time ago, it was the land of goons..
however i dont care a hoot about criminals or defective dna.....not much difference dealing with politics back where im from!
only difference in oz would be the good bank interests, cheap food and......more made in china products in local shops
just bash my way in and out safely.
coolgeek,
it was scientificall proven in 1990s.
defective genetics >>>criminal bloodlines.

But their gals are different, didnt they also come from the same genes?

How dare you let a sensible question get in the way of a perfectly good bullshit theory! Let the man continue! ![]()
Geek, it's easy to say you can "feel" something, but until you can quantify it, it doesn't exist - simple rules of logic.
pockets of racism exist everywhere...including singapore
it is not as if racism crippled australia socially or economically.
there is no drama here. not sure what's the issue here...
trademark and redust,
well....perhaps they dun have much industries n people in oz n are doin the jobs they hate thus the ugly human side.ive heard of my frend getting crap from qld uni when he was studying,,,,foreigners are often treaed much like criminals by some aussies unfortunately.then there was one lecturer from hong kong played out and doin job not ment for his position,,,i was also badly treated because they want it done their way without guidance, introduction and refusal to cooperate.im very much alive because i dared to question them and their methods!!!oz have like 3 serious injury in their industry every hour from their own gov statistics....so it tells u more bout how ignorant or how bad they do things.they count from water usage to nickel and dimes that a bulb uses....reminds me of a poor stingy man with no money.
in order words they expect u to know it by magic or ESP. working with the aussies is very much like being an inmate in prison.such is the legacy they want and want to handover if u seem different.
i should say there isnt much integrity, friendliness and often misleading info given to you from aussies if they can.its sabotage really.then theres favoritism which i can only get the aussie manager to confess after i skin him alive.
australia isnt ready for the world in terms of technology, strategy and mindset.its still stuck somewhere in the 1960s.im sure the americans, african refugees, german immigrants, vietnamese, malaysians, hong kongers, japanese and china chinese have a bad experience or know people who have exposure to australian defective humans from time to time.one vietnamese refugee who became an engineer and setup his own restaurant later stated he plans to grow beans like he did back in the refugee camps when he was younger.
another thai chemical engineer couldnt get his profession after he immigrated from thailand ,ended up as an air steward who also had to setup his restaurant later.
there are like 10 more stories from failed careers as a teacher in oz,forced out after 1 month on the job,guy applying fer the same job within company for 3 consecutive advertisements and finally getting forced out of the job, japanese family looking very sad and depressed after immigrating to oz,ex spore permanent residents from india intending to leave oz for better career prospects elsewhere in asia, phillipinos complaining aussie pretending to know plenty and making them do long winded jobs at the phillippinos expense and with more effort, new zealander forced to do work he hates, english immigrants from britain being fired from job for having 2 minutes more of a 30 mins teakbreak(32mins),china refugees during tianmen square fiasco complainin why they were given menial tasks when they had industrial machinining skills with years of experience, sad looking asian who looks like an accountant doing a cleaners job in brisbane, africans venting their anger on white gal, lebanese fighting with whites over a beach spot, malaysians who have had it with oz after being there and werkin there for 10 years, singaporean malay who immigrated elsewhere with aussie wife n said he wouldnt want to go back n live in oz...........theres about it for now.
tells u alot.......either theres no market fer them or they are forced to divert from their true profession.
but if u have been thru national service in spore and have seen whats happening under the PAP...it should be a walk in the park somewhat.

its not true for every singaporean though, i beleive those with degree are doing better over there, What u are talking about is vocational jobs. Its also a mess in singapore too

That's your problem right there. You simply don't know how to work with people. Doesn't matter if you're in Australia, the US or Botswana.
If you find that everyone you meet is difficult to work with, it's plain common sense to start looking at the one common factor in all of the problems - you.
yes kind of right, almost everywhere there will be people who are difficult to work with. and btw its not only asian who face such problems in australia, the local folks ( aussies) there face them too. many times u can hear them complaining about their own people. So u are no exception just because u r asian. the problem is as singaporean u did not face such things here in singapore before and when u went to oz, it came as a shock.
i know tons of singaporeans who migrated there and r happy.. i guess its all in yrself.
The important thing is in aus, u dont need to depend on anyone around u, the govt helps u financially , that alone is good enuff. i knw of people from refugee countries who r happy there, they live on social security and even own cars in aus. So stop complaining about restaurants not serving u. Like as if in singapore they serve u like king.

i never faced racism when buying things, in fact they served me like king. I think u must know how to talk and pass off as a local aussie born.

Knowing how to talk is one thing, but passing off as a local aussie born? You are actually supporting the statement that Aussies are racist with that. U mean that if we don't pass off as a local, we will no longer be treated as a King? :)
