Dunno whether anybpdy ever posted this before anot. The below was what I heard from one of my friends.
There was once when my friend's sis went to pack some roti prata home for supper near her hse. As the 'ah neh' was too busy to serve her when she asked for another packet of curry, therefore he asked my friend's sis to pack the curry herself. While packing, she tried to scoop and see whether can she find some potatoes anot.
You know wtf she saw?
A used pad in the curry!!!
She immediately leave everything there and left. After this incident, we never ever go back to that prata shop again.
I was told by some friends that some indian hawkers believed that putting a used pad in curry will invite more customers to patron them.
No offences to Indian bros ok..This is what I heard about. -

It actually happened in Malaysia. I remember reading a newspaper report about this. There was this hawker that got "pow toh" hence the people from the relevant agency organized a surprise check on his stall. When the hawker saw the people coming for him, he scooped "something" from his soup/gravy and ran to the river behind and dumped it. They never got to properly identity what was the item he disposed of, but from the description and also the situation you can guess what it was.

not just prata stalls, be wary of those foreigner making food generally, like PRC cooks who think its china and put in things like roaches or crickets believing it brings good fortune ( more sales ect). guess if u buy from singaporean , its safe though

oh man.. that is seriously gross. but it would be really bizarre if the curry actually tastes good which shld be the case since the number of patrons still remain the same or better yet, increase. just imagine if famous prata places like jalan kayu or thompson practice that. i mean the food is good but. . . the blood, a secret ingredient for extra savouriness? eeeeew!
