Maybe you should phrase it as "Does Goods and Services Tax (consumption tax) help to lower the price of consumer goods", to make it clearer.

when GST goes up, people will spend less or wait for prices to drop, So the sellers have to drop prices to sell. So does this in effect, cause a reduction of prices?
GST only burns pockets. I didn't heard of how it could help consumers save.
