i don't have a specific budget. moreover, i don't know what to expect cos it's the first time i'm looking to rent formal attire. some suggestions would be nice, then probably i can decide on what's 'affordable' from there.

Can explore bridal boutique. They not only have white bridal gown, also have evening gowns, cocktail dresses, for sale and for rent.

erhmm... can try Golden Horse. I didn't use this before, but all my friends who engage them had very nice gowns.
The shophouses at Tanjong Pagar have lotsa of bridal shops to choose from. If you have time, can just look around, until you find one that you like.
You can go to the shop and ask them to show you the ROM dresses that they have. I think ROM dresses are pretty ok, if you don't want to overdo it. Cuz they are usually not too long.
But if it's some graduation prom, then you may want to go for something more formal. Can also check out their price for their makeup artist to do your hair and make up.
