Right now you maybe suffering say for many months you have been jobless and been attending many job interviews but to no success. Or you maybe having a divorce and feeling very sad. Or you maybe suffering from cancer.
When you see somebody even worst off than you, let say as you were watching just now the channel U "The SPD charity show 2009" and you see so many handicap people who are even worst off than you in life, does it make you feel that you are still very fortunate as compared to others?
If yes, could it be that you are actually trying to comfort yourself by comparing with other people who are worst off than to make yourself feel better?

We're all handicapped in some ways or the other.
Obvious handicap is physical, non-obvious handicap is psychological.
There are alot of non-obvious handicap around here. ![]()

Would you be so dumb to include yourself in your own theory? ![]()
If you are unsure about feeling comforting yourself when you see handicap peoples, try to see the rich peoples again and see if you feel sorry for yourself. If you do, then that is normal. If not, then you are abnormal.
if I see someone worst off than me, I will feel that life is so tough for everyone too...
The problem is Singaporeans don't realise how fortunate they are and still continue to complain. They don't know that people in other parts of the world are starving to death.
