today someone ask me to find a staff for his company, must have auto cad skill , willing to work long hours on weekend and night time , have tehcnical skill , hard working can be left alone to run project so I ask how much is the pay, he said $1200 max ... what a joke .. but seriously he wasnt joking

or go to Russia, I am sure the poorer regions still sell slaves. Autocad skills can be easily taught. Save up on the salary. Just feed him 3 meals a day, pay utilities on his behalf. (hmm...may be even more than S$1200/mth at the end of the day!)
Just tell this cheapo to close shop, and be one less competitor for the market so that more socially responsible companies can afford to pay better.

i do. i run and manage the project/ for 1.2k per month. but tell the boss when i do my work and project i make the decision and my decision is final. tell him fcuk off when i am working. he can agree on that we sign a letter specifically on this job scope done.

Chances is that the person that call you is an idiot himself/ with no brain.
This is where communication skills from you, and how you evaluate jobs scope and responsibilities...comes into picture....1st.... you ask the hiring manager how much is the project Value?
2nd....How much can this person screw up and cost beyond the margin for the project?
At $1200 you can only get temps to run your "half" projects.....and the person will RUN....Even good employees will not respect the company because he/She was not treated in a dignify way as a human being....
Communication comes 2 ways don't just take what that idiot is request a serious person with a project would not throw such request....

Actually one of my fren was paid 1.4 K about 3 years ago and work no day no night in a local coy and he work there for more than 1 year , he resigned and they offered to upped his pay to 2.5 K but his new job pay him 3K so still quit . some employer believe now is still recession they try to squeeze the most from you .. especially local chinaman coy ... after the employee gain experience and leave the coy.. coy is the one that losses more ...

if sean-daboleh is with HR in the company already. but if he is with recruitment agency jialeh! as you know recruiters want to make money. jobs that stays means no jobs for them. so when you combined a HR and a sales = recruiters always be careful. project handling? what big MNC? if only simple project phrased as "project" handling maybe okay lah. like a client wants A4 papers. you received the request and submit quaotation and options.. they review accept one you work on the PO and elivery and sent the papers over later. this can also be simple project handling. project handling can also be something like a testing equipment. client wants a testing equipment to test their products. they state the requirements and you work with your design engineering team on it. submit the proposal for customer review. once approved the test equipment made and delivered to client. off course you required to tackle all garbbages issues along the way. construction. starts from land survey and drawings preparation, draft submission and approval to authorities, the building construation all the sheet along the way, commissioning and testing, hand over. so whcih one type is it?

depends if the salary is not at the limit yest OT can or must be claimed, up to the max limit the company pratise or the max hours workable per week. so i think your friend was ill-informed. -

1200 is more than a production operator but less than a technician. try malaysians with sperm credits or bagalah or cinamen. sure can work day and nite because they no family here to take care. -

here these are engineers job. if you want test and commissioning the title even an assistant won't do. its like protocol. commisssioning needs an engineer's signature, more so some need senior or management signature depends on complexity. 1.2k like i wrote is only for those retail or maybe small not sophisicated 'projects'. pays more than operator fuctory but less than technician junior level. even autocad operators going freelance or for a company get paied like least 1.5k or 1.6k junior and engineers handling everything (cad to coordiantion to supervising test and prep for commisioning) paid at least 2k and up. large oil refinery plant, off shore or machinery land projects 3k up and more also got. -

If hiring managers are short sighted they will find themselved cost more to replace a project person...
Reason it cost more for the new person to catch up and learned the wheel...so the project in most time is always at start point....dragging on with old issued...new people bring in new problems.....
other than salary your friend remember he was taken advantage of......"These are personal reason beyond money...."

really has got nothing to do with new old person. cometimes its good to have one person to handle the project. but remember there are many other points to note because you own the project but still need other departments people to help you complete the project. if the project always cocks up a new person may solve the problem. its the salary. really unless its some retail low ended projects the salary its enough to hire a junior tech, senior operator or experience line leader, inspector, warehouse assistant, admin assistant etc.
