Not exactly... People just like to make fun...Let's take for example: William Hung, quite a big hit when he entered america Idol... However he doesn't have anything unique so people usually make fun of him for quite a while...

February-> Man U won Carling Cup once again
May-> Man U won BPL 3rd concentively, which made them double. Man U finished as runner-up in UCL after failed to defend it.
June-> SBS9889U did magnificant cameo on 99. Singapore organised 1st ever Youth Asian Games successfully
August-> SBS8033D did magnificant cameo on 502
End of October-> Channel 8 taiwan soap opera 'Unforgettable memory' was ended after 3 to 4 years of airing on TV. -
