This was a prank that went way, way, way, too far.
If she had just asked for the cake and then said 'Just kidding!' to the bank staff when they decided to buy the cake, then it might have counted as a harmless prank.
But, no.... she just had to go all the way until she actually got the cake.....
And as mystiv has pointed out, she couldn't even have the decency to thank OCBC staff for buying the cake for her.
Pathetic. Truly, truly pathetic.
how come no one said it's PAP's fault?

Agreed, there are just some funny people out there in the real world. My advice to her is to get an appointment with IMH.
How come the blogger got so much free time on her birthday? No one celebrating with her arh? Feeling a little lonely? To the extent that she has to find some 'company' in the bank bullying her way to a cake?
I think the blogger is one big loser sia...
I wonder if the blogger has seen the Magnum ice-cream ads
I would sure love to see her squeeze royal treatment by ang mos in victorian wear like the ad

this kind of fussy crap is something that only women are capable of.
on a side note, the picture painted by the OCBC ad is one of warm, family oriented feelings but if you walk into any OCBC bank, it is hardly like that lol.
Banks are fast paced, cold environments, at least that's what I perceive everytime i step inside.
haha... this is the topic for FM93.3 this morning.
All same same lah.
Even insurance also like that.
Even time sharing also like that.
93.3 DJ says if the ad is saying that the blogger can get free birthday cake
then she must bring her daughter there to draw her a picture first
then the bank will give her the cake
if blogger is a guy
that means cannot
if blogger only have son, no daughter
cannot oso, becos the ad says must be a daughter
if no son no daughter to draw picture
means confirm cannot
lol
^
lol.
just a cake also gian
If the blogger have like over $1,000,000 in her bank account, there's much higher chances that bank staff would really buy a birthday cake to surprise her, even without her asking. ![]()
Maybe for lesser mortals like us with less than $100K, definitely no cake. ![]()

If you have like over $1,000,000 in your bank account, then maybe bank staff would become very warm & friendly. After your banking, they will even walk out of the counter to open the glass door for you. As you exit, they bow to you....
....Only if you have more than $1m in your bank account! ![]()
even bill gate's b'day go OCBC also no cake la.
frankly, the bank could have told her outright that she has proven herself to be a nuisance, and someone who is taking away resources used to serve the real customers of the bank, the other people.. as such, she cannot be treated as a customer.. but as someone who is detrimental to the rest of the real customers..
and as such, they have been mistakened and will therefore reimburse her savings and whatever credit she had in the bank.. and she should take her custom to other banks...
then give her a cheque for the outstanding amounts in her accounts, close them and request that she vacate their premises..
they can then put her name into the banking systems, to warn other banks about her...
the cost of the cake will be deducted from her bank account
On my birthday, I would not be so free to go down personally to get a free cake from the bank, unless I happen to be there and they really offered a cake to me upon seeing my IC.
Its your birthday mann, why spoil the day for everyone, including yourself, being pointed at fingers for being "YAO GUI"?
I dont want the cake, for my birthday, credit the 'birthday' money into my saving account will do
i cannot imagine any sane individual walking into a bank asking for a cake on his/her birthday. makes him/her seem so desperate for attention e.g. family/friends did not remember his/her birthday that he/she had to resort to demanding one from the bank.

Now that would be fun, especially since she openly declared too that she provided a fake address.
she must have work in Maybank or somewhere...
anyway the manager may have attempted to explain the advertisement more (one argument could be tat they had ever given a cake one time in one branch under the advertised scenario and tat gives them the right to advertise such a way) but she just brush it off without listening
That is call "cannot promise the public, then dont promise."
they never promise anything... they just tell a story of something tat may had happened before
