a classmate of mine whom i wasnt close with, wanna borrow a textbook for 1 semester. he mentioned several times to ask me to keep the book for him. i thought he's buying it from me.
found out, he just wanna borrow it for 1 semester and return. the problem is, i dont know him very well.
just a textbook i know. but any opinions?

In uni, most people still charge a small fee for loaning of textbooks.
charge how much?
usually i buy from seniors. would prefer to highlight the book and stuff.

$5-10 usually depending on the cost of the book.
Since its a loan, its not important whether you have highlighted the book since ultimately you are the owner. Just that you might want to make it clear to him whether you allow him to write or highlight on the book since its still yours.
if u are not needing the book anymore just sell to him
at half price
(or depends on how good a businessman u are)
okay thank! =)
but i think most prob will prefer to sell someone or lend to someone i am on betta terms with.
so i think he's one weird person

i wont need the book anymore. so i think he's inconsiderate to suggest 'lend for 1 sem' this thing. haha
Quite common leh. I wouldn't mind lending them out to a person I'm familiar with.
last time i scare borrow or even discuss with classmate over a textbook. because my text bk got a lot of drawings, got human beings 'organs' drawings also. so so time when discuss work with girl classmate forget which page got organs i just flip and 'tada' organ drawings come out.
don't lend, sell. Unless you need the book back later.

Hi Blurryvision,
Since you have decided to either sell the book or lend it to someone who you are closer to, tell him directly that if he wants the book, he will have to buy it from you.
Cheers.
if so cheapo then ask him go lib and borrow and go zap
but dun get caught for copyright infringement lah
bcos oni can zap dunno how many % of the book

... mine is writing crude sentences for my own memorization. so when ppl wan my notes, i've to spend time erasing these sentences. haha
i tink it depends on the value of the book.
If it cost 100++, i wouldnt wanna lend it, fearing irresponsibility.
if 5bucks textbook, i fug care la. . .
hmm cheapest tb i can find in uni is 30. yep, so mostly 30 and above that kinda range
