While there may be short-term costs, I believe that they will be offset by the long-term benefits in terms of the convenience Orchard Beach will bring to residents, our contribution to reducing global temperatures (however minimal), as well as the re-imaging of Singapore. Even if the economic benefits of building Orchard Beach are dubious, in life we should adopt a broader perspective and not simply be concerned about material wealth, but emotional and spiritual fulfillment too. Hence, the authorities should seriously consider my proposal.

1) why would you call a beach, "a beach"?
Beach : a shore of a body of water covered by sand, gravel, or larger rock fragments
Where you wanna get that body of water? Make an artificial sea or bay is it? Orchard Sea or Orchard River ah?
2) What the hell has having a beach got to do with global warming? Making a beach reduces temperature?

Even if the irrationality and hogwash benefits of having you around still, are dubious, in life we should adopt a broader perspective and not simply be concerned about having just +1 or ignoring totally but emotional and spiritual fulfillment too. Hence, the mod or admin should seriously consider having TS around.

Orchard road shopping malls are too enclosed to allow any sea breeze into the man-made beach. Beside, are you sure that people want to be seen in their beach wear in Orchard road by the shoppers?
