I think most of you already know what was the reason Macdonald do not include the pig doraemon, as they want to be 'sensitive' to our Muslim fellow.
So are they not 'sensitive' to the Chinese fellow and who are Buddisht and Indian that dont eat beef, so why are they selling beef then??? Are they not SENSITIVE toward those racese ??? The reason they provided was ridiculous, as far as I (as a non-muslim) know, so long as the Certified Restaurant dont sell pork or related meal, it is perfectly alright and didnt breach the Certification of the Restaurant to have the toy/s which have pig designed.
The act of Mcdonald not only INSENSITIVE, INCONSIDERATE toward others race, but also TOTALLY OUTRAGEOUS. How can they so MEAN and THINK they deserve the right to alter the Chinese 12 horoscope which is an important part of Chinese Culture.
This is not just an issue of toy, but the invasion of Culture and Traditon which have pass down from the Chinese ancestor from thousand years ago....
Mcdonald, if you still think you have the RIGHT TO INVADE other's Culture and Tradition just because you want to be 'sensitive' (but in fact YOU ARE SENSELESS), YOU WOULD LOST LOT OF CUSTOMER.
I for one would not visit Mac as often as i use to be. And you know what, Mcdonald, I'm a CHINESE who BORN IN THE YEAR OF PIG.

It must be a marketing gimmick to start stirring a storm by replacing a chinese zodiac sign of a pig soft plush toy to a cupid doraemon to promote halai in their restaurants with the aim of securing Muslims market without offending the chinese counterpart by preaching love through the cupid doraemon.

if this is marketing gimmick, then it was insensitive to the chinese, now maybe back to the muslims, it a lose-lose situation for McD...good riddance and it's a win-win situation for other fastfoods joints..haha!

if macdonald thought tat sacrificing another group's religion and custom for the sake of another group is right, then we should make sure they deserve a lesson they won't forget

They tried to be sensitive to Muslims by leaving out the pig.
In doing so they became insensitive to non-Muslims.
Muslims also got pissed off because McDonalds' was insinuating that Muslims here are intolerant and narrow-minded.
In the end, the only loser is McDonalds'. In trying to be sensitive to one group of consumers, they ended up pissing everyone off. So, marketing strategy..... PHAIL.
Shucks man..... if they really were concerned about this whole sensitivity thing, then why can't they just like, ask the Islamic Religious Council or something...?

BOWING to demands from the public, fast-food giant McDonald's has decided to add a pig toy to its latest promotion after leaving it out initially.
The figure was to have been part of a 12-character Doraemon set depicting the animals of the Chinese zodiac calendar, but the chain replaced it with a Cupid toy when the promotion began a month ago.
It said at the time that it had done so in order 'to be sensitive to the Muslim customers'.
But the move was derided by many Singaporeans, including Muslims, who felt it to be unnecessary.
Chinese Singaporeans complained that the pig is part of the zodiac, and that leaving it out makes little sense.
Many said they had wanted to buy the whole collection, but had decided against it, as the set would not be complete without the porcine toy.
