Being integral part of CNY celebrations in many part of the world, fire crackers was banned in SG.

If u allow fire crackers at specific places, it will mean ppl selling fire crackers...
And when ppl can freely buy fire crackers, they will put fire crackers in their neighbour hood...
U think it's sooo easy to monitor and track all the fire crackers? How can u be so sure by allowing fire cracker at designated areas, ppl wont put them elsewhere?

Unlike in the 70s, you can hear the fire crackers sound. And you can feel that the cny is coming.
But now....so quiet.

I oppose the banning of firecrackers. Chinese New year is only once a year. Firecrackers should be allowed during chinese new year.
PAP's rules are too repressive and stifling.

Maybe can set aside a stretch of fixed area, like near Singapore River, then call it CrackPlanade. Better than nothing at all.

heck.. singapore is so small.. why ban them?? many developed and highly urban countries and cities allows people to set tthem freely.. i went taiwan.. bought one big bag of them and set off.. so fun!
i even set off along the five foot way.. noone even batter an eyelid

maybe prcs should gather and protest against pap.
