Like u all already know there's this popular song 'empire state of mind' by jayz feat alicia keys. yes that song. It shows how proud they are to be in new york or an american instead. New york is really a beautiful city and dont deny it. deep down i know u guys will accept the fact that new york indeed the best and beautiful city in the world.

Now my hope is i want some singaporean artist make a song about singapore too. Since their song based on new york, ours can be in clarke quay since the resemblance is quite close. dont u think so?

I first heard this song in a shop in Melbourne City and couldn't get it out of my mind and I just had to find out more about it and listen to it again and again on YouTube! It brought back memories of my trip to NYC.

I really love the place - it's buzzing with activity and there's so much character, so much uniqueness. I recall standing in a park, looking at a sculpture made out of wreckage from the Twin Towers and getting all teary-eyed thinking about the innocent lives that have been lost and yet, all around me, I was surrounded by a sea of people getting on with their lives, moving on, looking ahead to the future. You get this sense that they might be individualistic, but in times of disaster and calamity, New Yorkers have it in them to help watch out for their fellowmen as well.

Don't get me wrong, there are flaws and you do see pockets of ugliness in NYC, but it all goes into making the city truly vibrant, warts and all.

Actually, Singapore already has quite a few songs written about her... every National Day, a new song about Singapore is released, innit?
