local bosses scared compaetition from their own people so their subordinates foreigners.
local people buying flats and renting to froeigners
so if we cut the sources and see how we can turn around the whole motto of 'Singapore depends on people and HR' maybe the whole situation will change. its time we start working on our land and generate some natural resources that we can depend on or sell on our own. in a long run what we are investing on and relying on may not catch up with us in time.
Problem is not with the migrant workers. Remember there was once we have lot's of Thais & Malaysians? Foreign workers have been existed long ago before the recent influx.
The problem lies with the poor planning. Singapore has chewed more than what she can swallow & I can say our rate of population increase must be the fastest in the world. That leads to a long list of social problems. The housing crunch & the public transport squeeze are just 2 of the increasing list of problems.
I believe no other citizens in the world have the type of tolerance which we have in accepting the mistakes made by our leaders.
The keys are land and resources (any form). We should R and D those and also build them up. That way work out then we mass increase our population. I believe the gahmen knows how to control. When our population incresed uncheck back in the 60s and 70s gahmen also implemented policies in hope that sgreans can cut down on having children. it will take years to see results as what they said it has some truths.
the problem i see is we need not only to think out of the box or make our people venture out of the island but we also need to expend out of our little box and resources.
