In the past (90s) when I was in primary sch I would tou1 xiao4 already if I got more than $2... kids nowadays get $10 also complain.
Today, walk pass my area garden playground, saw a group (I think lower sec) already punching their hp....my time, where got np? Marble got.
Perhaps, when you are kids or during your generation, you lack of all these things, so, you tend to have a pyscho problem, we psycharist call it, Material Neglected Mental disorder, kind of like why i dun have and your have kind of thinking. Can be very bad for health.
The next in thing will be notebook (primary school students) c/w mobile internet stick.

$10 is enuf liao, just eat a meal per day enuf liao, go to public places like CC or sport complex they got cooler water, then visit temples, they got free vege foods with cofee and tea and even free fruit like durian if you are lucky. So, with $7 left, you can go watch a show on weekdays.
Lemme tell you a story from what my friend has told me:
He has a nephew whom he brings out occasionally to macs and eat. My friend always give him $10 and ask him to keep the change.
Then there is a time where the nephew asked my friend for $50. My friend asked why. The nephew said that ask for more money so can keep the rest himself mah, since my friend always tell the nephew to keep the change.
Sigh. That's how spoilt kids today are.

Do, that, foods in singapore is not that expensive, it is the drink that is very very expensive, a 30 cents base can drink can sell for $1.50 to $2.00 or even $3 at certain places, just dun drink, drink plain water from your bottle, it is free and more cooling and more healthy.
If i am a parent i will also do the same, buy iphone for my children if i have a stable income.
If i dont have a stable income i wont be marrying and making everyone sufffer
