what is the meaning of work ?
1. to kill time
2. to earn money to buy stuff, pay bills

To gain experience
To look good on resume
Different people work for different things.
Primarily, we work for money.

personally, i used to enjoy work and was a passion-driven person. till the past year or so, i have found work meaningless. can't seem to find motivation other than to make a living. hence this question is lame but is very real to me.

For me... work is kinda a way to get out of the house with a reason, solve issues that do not revolves around you, know people you like and hate, meet people who you wanted or hate to meet, get yourself busy with things that you don't usually trouble yourself to do.... In regards to the money part... ya... to help with your monthly expenses.
work = earn money to give generously to gahmen and save peanuts.

we work for others - gahmen, PUB, telecom, HDB, retailers selling clothes, supermarket for grocery... (pay bills), and if you are married, you work for your family...
if you can do all this with work that you enjoy, then you belong to the lucky few. other than that, work is just boring stuff, that's why you are paid to do something which someone else (i.e. your boss) would rather not do.
that's why we hire maids. they do work which we rather not do
