Just received a damn letter from POSB saying that my bank account is overdrawn and they failed to deduct the annual charge of $18.14 to my debit card. Because of that, POSB is charging me a minimum of $20 interest once I deposit my savings back into my bank account! I remember I did withdrew all my savings around the time when POSB is trying to deduct the annual fee from my bank account just because I owed NTUC $54 and NTUC always deduct money at that time! Forgive me for doing that as I was conned out of signing up as a member and the staff did not tell me about the monthly charges! I was trying to leave when the NTUC staff approach me like a pathetic beggar that I cannot refuse! I did not use the NTUC membership card at all so I refuse to pay for it! Damn NTUC told me that I had to pay up the $54 currently owed to them first and a further $27 for the time it takes to cancel the membership! Therefore, I did not cancel the membership! What jerk! Now I had being conned!
If I failed to pay up the annual charge together with the minimum interest which amounted to about $38, my debit card will be terminated. I was thinking whether to let POSB terminate my card or is it worth paying up the minimum sum of $38 to continue using my card! I use paypal quite a lot!
If they did terminate my card, will I be barred from applying a new card again?
I don't think you need anyone of us to advise you, you'll just let the situation lapse and let them terminate your card.
Looks like you are not too smart in managing your money with your NTUC.
Don't blame others, blame yourself.
I recommend you take this as a lesson, always think carefully before committing. Pay all your dues to POSB. Remember people lost hundred of thousand dollar with Lehman Brothers ?
If not , you have a compounding interest/fee with POSB if drag on in the future. Messy later on.

Usually when I am bugged by insurance or OCBC sales reps, I tell them I am unemployed, and they step back.
