Movie Downloads in Singapore

Hi. I am from India and I ll be moving to Singapore in few days.
Is downloading movies / installing pirated applications in your computer illegal in singapore?
Do they check your laptops and portable hard disk in singapore airport customs?
I guess only P2P is banned but I can download pirated movies from rapidshare.
Can anyone in singapore please clarify on this

Its not only illegal, rapidshare also doesn't work in singapore. And yes, they check every damn thing you carry, even the bundle of blank CDRs. You made a mistake to come here. You'll regret every single moment of it.
If you think I'm kidding, c'mon here and try it, don't cry after that.

its ok if you fly first class. they dont check those passengers. they expect them to have the dough to pay for all their software, etc.

Mediafire is free and always trusted by me. The rest like megaupload.... rapid share all require you to pay money... Try torrent if you want, always free but slow. Remember to have anti-virus with you.
