if you are a white collar worker, would you work at a blue collar job due to circumstances ?
if you are an office worker in all your previous jobs, would you work at a frontline job (say counter staff) due to circumstances ?
(no offence using the terms "white collar" and "blue collar" here. it's just for easy reference sake)

Depends on the situation. How badly you need the job. How many kids are crying at home. etc etc

Why not? Labour disgraces no one but unfortunately we occasionally find men disgracing labour...... Blue collar.... white collar.... what's the diff? Why do we work in the first place? Coz we've got bills to pay (circumstances) in some countries, blue collar jobs pay much better than white collar ones.....

yah theoretically it sounds right. but in actual fact, when you actually HAVE to make the switch, it's a different story. the psychological adjustment, the constant self questioning "why am i doing this ?", etc... and the fitting in, especially at the beginning stage can be gruelling.
say, you are a manager, then due to circumstances (retrenchment, etc) now you have to become a production operator. until you are actually in the shoes, you won't begin to imagine how it feels like.

It may feel shitty indeed. But like I said, we work because of circumstances. It's ok to work in "lowly' jobs so long as you don't look down on yourself..... This is not all air-fairy theory. I've been there..., done that and survived to be on the upswing again. It's all about attitude at the end of the day. -

Well....get used to it.
And yes, I've done jobs like that too (factory work, etc etc)...in the end it's all about the money.
