Is taka jewellery really giving discount?

I walk past a few take jewellery shops and when I went in to look at their rings, I saw that they were giving big discounts.
Like a solitarie ring with a price tag of 3k, now they are selling for 1.2k.
Are they really giving so big discount?
I have a feeling that the ring original price is maybe like 1.5k and they are only giving $300 discount and selling at 1.2k but to give the public the impression that there is great discount, they put a fake price tag of 3k to give the public the impression that they are giving a 60%(1.8k) discount..
If not it could mean that the cost price of the ring maybe like only $600 and they sell it at a 5 time profit at 3k. So even after discount, they sell at 1.2k they still make a 100% profit..

that's why they use a diamond ring because they can put ANY price tag to it.
no way they'll get away with a gold ring !

I got go to ask other jewellery shops like lee hwa etc.
For rings that comes with international GIA certs they are selling at around 2k and above..

all diamond look at the 4C
the GIA cert is important.
taka really offer diamond ring cheaper than other brand.
i pay 3k for a 0.5C @ taka, i look at another shop cost 4k+ with the same 4c.

their cut is also very lousy, not done by professionals. if u clearly look at a complicated design with many diamonds, you'll notice gaps in between the diamonds.. and some diamonds dun even fit.

You believe or not, you buy a discounted diamond ring from T@k@, then when you sell to pawnshop, you'll only get back around 1/3 of the discounted price you paid (even enough it is discounted already).
Some pawnshops even don't feel like buying in T@k@ diamond rings from customers. The uncle from pawnshop told me, T@k@ diamond ring has a reputation of poor workmanship, diamond anyhow cut one.
Another auntie from another pawnshop also told me the same thing, they're relunctant to buy T@k@ diamond rings or they'll quote d@mn low price than normal, as compared to other diamond rings of other brands.
Moral of the story: T@k@ diamond rings have bad rep, don't ever buy even if they give 90% discount.

It's like new HDB flats.
They probably cost $100,000 to build per flat.
But HDB sells it to you at a "subsidized" price of $300,000 if similar surrounding resale flats cost $400,000.
So it looks as though you are getting a good deal.
