at most we go back to ancient times lor. we ride horses, use swords and arrows and do hunting and farming to survive lor.
In todays outlook, I don't think we'll be able to go back to that era, not peacefully anyway. No goverment of any countries will propose that, or it'll be voted out super fast and replace by another goverment who is against the idea. Like wat im saying, everyone in this world right now, be it political parties, companies' CEO, normal citizen like you and me, we're all 骑虎难下, we've already started this cycle which will never ends until it strained up every drop of resources, but before that, much earlier than that, you'll see people fight over it and we'll kill ourselves much earlier before the oil had actually used up.
What is scary is that even though we know what will happen and we would like to stop it, no one can do it in todays environment, not even the US president can do it, what can he do? order the world to cut down oil consumption by 50% by tomorrow? cut down his own country consumption? and get voted out and replace by a guy who would like to increase the consumption by 50% instead, so people can have more stuff to play with, more iphones and ipads and maybe more 3D tvs to watch.
