sgforumers, how true do you guys think this is? are most guys better are math?
"By monitoring how long the babies looked at each image, the scientists could tell which babies found the new rotated image uninteresting, because it was just another in the series they had just seen. Babies who understood that the mirror image didn’t belong in the series, stared at it longer. Boy babies, on average, looked significantly longer at the mirror image. “We had 12 boys and 12 girls,” says Liben, “and 11 of 12 boys, and 5 of 12 girls looked longer at the mirror image.” Liben stresses that although the data showed a significant group difference, some girl infants behaved like most of the boys."

I am one of those who cant understand simple maths
not sure I think boys and gals equally good.
Hmmm there is probably some truth in this...but you can't really use it to generalise.
So far, most of the guys I know are better at maths than girls. Maybe because guys are able to focus better (single minded
)and are not as easily distracted as girls.
Of course la....this doesn't apply to everyone.

this reminds me the year my GCE A levels released, school top student was girl. all A1s. including F Maths.
well they all say that guys are more logical... though there are exceptions
Of course it is true.
But conversely, females are better at languages.
I am good at everything
Generalising is not good.
There are women maths geniuses.

Males are dominant, period =D WAHAH
Generally yes.. but not all are good
Girls are smarter in general
smarter? does diligent mean smart?
I am bad at maths!
That's why when shopping, and getting back the change, I usually never count it.
I kinda agree that guys are better at maths. It's strange and I dunno why, but guys do seem better at maths than girls. [Which is totally unfair!>:x ] xD
Supposedly, guys are better at maths while girls are better at languages. But this is not absolute........ Cases of exceptions exist abundantly............

mebbe you are meant to study those super complicated type of maths leh.......?
Bullshit article. Visuospatial and numeric ability are at best related, and certainly not interchangeable in the way this article treats the two abilities.
The "if it has four legs it must be a salamander" rubbish reasoning notwithstanding, Liben's gotta be out of her mind claiming significance on a ptitful sample of 24.
What a load of bollocks. The irony here is that with her absurdly poor grasp of statistics, Liben just proved her point. Go figure.
