Anyone know how much a lawyer letter cost? Like to get the money for breach of agreement.

Dunno how much the letter will cost, can be FOC or even any rate at which the lawyer would want to charge. Maybe your company already has appointed associates, so can get it cheap or at good rates. Maybe they don't and have to spend alot of time and money. If your boss wants to send you the letter, only got 2 ways, through the office or directly to your home. Really, you can't do anything until you get something. I just think your boss is damn free to threaten you as such.

agency problem. it state that if i resign within 90 days upon commencement of work i must pay 1 month salary. but the OT is like crazy for me 1month 34hours OT.Cant take it. and for other staff they think this is normal working hours.

Ok mah, reasonable mah, I'm sure you were aware of the penalty before you signed the letter right? Were you aware of the OT before you signed? If you really cannot tahan beyond the 90 days, then quit, but you should know you have to pay up, and not escape, since you signed it and there is a binding agreement. You can find the bestest lawyers in the universe, but if you signed and agreed to it, no one can help you.
Give you the best option is to pay back the 1 month salary in installments.

1 month? dun pay lar until they drag u to court. anyway the judge may not side them.

ditzy i am not the person you talking about wor this is the 1st time i register in sgforum. guess lot of us are facing the same problem. they never mention about the OT and the timing i start work is also different from what the agency told me.

Rooney9 the agency start with A ya. Ya some also told me just wait until they sent the lawyer letter.

erhm.... about a couple of hundred to $300 bah, if I remember correctly. I can confirm that when I get back to office cuz there is this chao man eat oredie dun pay and we got lawyer to send him letter. -
Go through small claims tribunal?? Guess theres such a court?

1 month 34 hour OT, 1 week about... 9 hours OT?
assume 5 working days, 2 hours OT per day?

go see employment act. its should be fine to quit if they break the law. u can use the employment act as ur defence.

if you covered under the what employment act then the amount of OT enough to get them into trouble.
If your problem is the amount of OT only and don't want to pay the 1 month penalty, then just go to work and go off on time and don't do the OT lor.

Aiyah how much is the amt owed by you to the campany ? If its ard $1 then most likely they won't even bother to get lawyer lor . Comeon man who wants to go through so much trouble just to get back 1k ? My friend did almost the same as you but just that he did not serve the 1 month notice period when he resigned , mean he just dissappeared after telling them he resigning . After that no sound at all from the previous employer . And his dad also say what for pple go through so much trouble just to get back 1k ?
But if your pay is a significant amt then haha take care !!!
