hey guys,
need your advice here.
i purchased some books and DVDs with total worth US$500+ and had them shipped to Singapore via United States Postal Service (USPS).
i have the tracking number from USPS and since 30 June, i've been checking their website but it keeps saying the item in now "In Foreign Customs, Singapore".
meaning the stuff are now somewhere in singapore. i consulted some friends and they say once USPS mails arrive in Singapore, they will be handed over to Singpost?
if that's the case, "Foreign Customs" refers to the Singpost HQ at Paya Lebar?
i don't think the "Foreign Customs" refers to ICA.
i've e-mailed singpost but no reply from them. i'm thinking of calling them this week.
anyone encountered stuff like this?
if it's a small amt, it's ok, but i cannot afford to have US$500+ worth of stuff vanished into thin air.
they are probably doing some checking bcos u have to pay GST due to over S$400
wat are the items?
the items are 3 books (textbooks) and the rest are DVDs (art instruction). i think there's around 15+ DVDs. usually, if there's nothing, customs will release the thing in 2 - 3 days at most, but mine has been a week and still counting. if anyone could tell me that "customs" this is, maybe i can go down to their office and talk to them and get the thing.
the longer this drags, the more uncertain the fate of my parcel.
u may receive a letter with the instructions on how to go and claim ur goods and pay the GST (if applicable) or other taxes.
