hmm i studied product design , gpa 2.5 (sadly) .any way to go engineering in local uni? or computer engineering/science degree?
no $$ to go overseas
can understand your economic predicament.....
but not to worry...there are still private institutions...grab a degree first...but check its ranking not too low....somewhere in the mid is good....SIM is the best...try it...if u can't make it to local U....
next and quickly, get the experience and sharpen your PR skills.....PR is the most important if u cannot beat the scholars.....remember that well...
once u got in a good company...make the best...and hone your PR skills further....save up for a most prestigious masters to offset your average degree.....
wish u luck! most important....dun bother the bitches...your career comes first!
PR is more powerful than scholars....remember
Since you are not good in this area, have you thought of venturing into other fields? Though what you study might not be what you would end up doing.

Bill Gates is a Harvard Uni drop out. Steve Jobs studied and carried on with his Auditing class at Reed College.
Both of them are at a higher level in education. So if TS reach that stage and drop out, its good enough already. ![]()

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs drop out because they have business ideas. So did Mark Zuckerberg.
Not because they don't have the abiltiy to complete the degrees.
just remember they choose to leave school........to explore more meaning-"ful" activities in life.
James Cameron was a Auto repair technician before discovered his passion in film making....

my passion is to study biology and make people live longer, or even better, Forever!
but.... i'm not in biology ('o' levels suck), they wont let me take biology in uni if i got 2.5 gpa in design right? lol . if i take private uni degree, gonna compete with local uni grads in jobs relate to biology which are scarce. 100+ grads every year in less than 15 jobs?
so i try to make as much money now so i can study later, hmm which degree should i go?i believe with a degree, at least it can make you go far.

U can start by going for micro biology or Bio chemistry. or diploma in Med Tech. Clinical research is growing so that would help you to get your foot into "A Job"
want to be another bill gates.steven job....follow your passion?
I am not pouring cold water here..
In singapore is different. The society here compare to united states.
hi ts,
i'm also a poly grad with a gpa ard the same as urs.. and i studied biotech.
to do a life science course in LOCAL uni, u need to get a gpa of at least 3.5 and above.
i've a friend who also graduated from biotech with a gpa of 3.2 and above, was rejected from the local uni.
and trust me, it's not that easy to secure a job in this line. most of the jobs in this line are located in the west eg. tuas, science park. btw starting pay for diploma grad (life science) is ard 1.6k-1.8k. unless it's a MNC company, which can get ard 2k. also depends on the nature of job you're doing which is either in lab or in some biomanufacturing companies.
well, i'm just as lost as you, on what to do in future. so i hope this helps. :)

Hi, my cousin studied biology, and didn't do that well in her poly too. But she is not working as a lab research assistant in NUH and studying part time in a pte uni for a degree in biology. You can seek jobs relevant to your area of interest, and find a pte uni to get your degree. If you are willing to work hard, nothing can stop you.
for that gpa..no way u can go into local uni..
no $ go oversea...then try local private U.. maybe can...
if not.. go work full time.

hmm now i'm thinking whether i should go in IT or mechanical engineering, is mechanical engineering (part-time) in ntu recognised as full time?its like 5 years compared to 4 years for full time.
Found a IT course in sim-global from university of london, looks good but the subjects doesn't show it will teach c++ , is it a must to have c++? what programming skills must i have for IT?
is mechanical engineering (part-time) in ntu recognised as full time?

That is impossible! It is stated in the bible that all men will eventually dies.Men can live at most 100 years only.
don;t study so much lah. now i think only minister position no foreign pigs competition.
your dip is good lah. work gain experience, learn multiple skills so that you can survive and thread on multiple industries. don't have to earn big in one, just earn some in all. simple people like us hav to survive like this no choice the policies and loopholes within flavours so many floor traps, which are only good in keeping the stench and cockoraches at bay
Ther are many private degree courses in spore.
Take your pick. I am sure your grade are not that worst.
