How many of you here actually subscribe to Work to live ideology(on and off working)?
So far i known of two forummers here subscribing to Work to live lifestyle.
How many of you here are actually scared to come out of comfort zone adhering to Live to Work ideology(Day 1 start working all the way)?
is this the trend of Singaporeans now?
But one thing for sure is, we are not born exclusively to be come a digit in our economy isn't it?
Work to live, not live to work.

If I can say, life is made up of your work, family, leisure, money and more. But work does take more time, so u do need work to have a good life, just make sure u enjoy your work, then life will become good too?
I pity you if you live to work. Those who do that = workaholics. Most probably have low self-esteem

But the problem is i am finding myself losing interest in everything, those you have mentioned that is. I just feel like a robot being fed into production line, switch on at certain time, switch off at certain time..life goes like day day by day. So meaningless...

that probably descibes me.
"Ironic"
An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
And isn't it ironic... don't you think
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures
Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well isn't this nice..."
And isn't it ironic... don't you think
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures
Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
In your face
A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic...don't you think
A little too ironic...and, yeah, I really do think...
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures
Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
Helping you out

You've been watching too much of The Matrix Trilogy.
And TCS 5 is not helping by showing reruns. Again.
Try Groundhog Day. ![]()

werks fer fortune and profit.
no fortune n profit might as well not werk....
When you get to an older age, with kids to support, you have no choice but to live to work. Not that you want it, but you are forced into it. You finish your work and have nothing to do, you still cannot go home, because the official knock-off time is 5.30pm or 6pm. You want a more relaxing life, you want to switch to another job, you look at your kids, and you think, "I don't want my kids to suffer." So you continue. Not that it is easy to find another job when you are near and over 40, because it is a strange phenomenon in Singapore - employers want young, inexperienced employees who are cheaper and more energetic (nevermind that they take a longer time to complete the work). Don't bother that the gahment keeps telling employers to hire seniors - it will not happen (unless these are jobs which nobody wants), and if it does, expect a very big pay cut.
