Never heard of jewelry depreciating. Does it undergo wear and tear?
I thought jewelery prices will increase over the years??
hahaz~ The sales people approached me too!
I believe the term 'upgrade' means the 0.25carat diamond can be removed and mount to another ring/necklace/bracelet if you want to . In another words, it means very flexible as you have a choice of where you want to mount your diamond in future.
Btw, the sale ppl tempt me by saying "oh! You can mount the diamond into necklace, you gf sure will like it one!" wahahaha~ I was very tempted to buy, but... I low-income tutor nia, no money buy so expensive diamond.
I only got a 0.1 diamond for my gf bought with my honest income.

I only know jewelry prices fluctuate with gold prices, provided they contain gold. Diamonds on the other hand, are forever. Whatever that means.![]()

Do it means that I can trade in this 500bucks ring and pay an additional 500bucks to get a 1000bucks ring in the future? However, I’ve heard that there’s a depreciation rate involved too. True?
Another question is which carat size that most people will go for?
Lastly, I am wondering which jewellery shop do most people prefer? SK? Sookee? Lee hwa? Citigems? Do share with me
Gold prices are always going up and down. But for long term, it is noticed to go up. Buying Jewellery/Gold are long term investments.
You have to check with SK regarding the "upgrade".
Carat size depends on what you are going to do. For wearing, it depends on the finger. For investments, remember the 4 Cs. Definately bigger the better.
SK and Soo Kee are the same company but doing different level of market. Soo Kee is for higher standards thus more pricey.
Lee Hwa, Gold Heart and Citigems are the same too.
Buy Brilliant Rose Diamonds at Soo Kee, Destinee Diamonds at Lee Hwa.
According to some web info, Brilliant Rose Diamonds has much more shine than Destinee. Was compared by some gemologist.

It just means the value will be way lower than what you had originally bought it for.
Not really in depreciating in that sense of the word.
Anyway, diamond rings are typically not used for investment purposes. ![]()
