wah lau ... wan mi dry ar???
govt oni say 7% is compulsory
even 10% svc chrg is depending on the establishment to chrg or not
I think if they want to charge PH surcharge, they should let the customers know first before they order the food. If customers not happy with the surcharge, they have a choice of not eating there. Sometimes during public holidays it's difficult to get tables in eating establishments. Singaporeans really ngiao chee. ![]()
At least it goes into doubling my pay at the end of the day. ![]()
eateries have the right to chrg but shd inform patrons way ahead
like putting a sign at the entrance
and let customers decide want to eat there or not
and not just put in the bill w/o any clarification
This is crazy.
I nv kenna b4...
if u kena, would u just ä¹–ä¹– pay or fight?
pay first, later then complain...

The 10% svc charge is bs. As a foreigner I was a little naive for a long time thinking that this went to the wait staff (like a tip). When I found out that it was just a charge for letting the restaurant serve me I was pissed.
the 10% svc chrg is like forced tipping.
so i would collect every piece of loose change, even the 1 cents
Write to the press and not just in our forum.
Let the whole of Singapore know about it.
Anyway if there are surcharge for taxi during certain pH so why not on other service related industies.
I would dine in such place if I had to pay for pH surcharge.
