MLM is not allow in singapore, if a company product is good, get it licensed, advertise it proudly, why must it be MLM??
And If you want to lose weight and feel better. Go to your family doctor and have him or her give you a diet and exercise plan to follow. Doing it the healthy way is much more better than doing it by herbalife or any other gimmicks. Ads and commercials are peppered with gimmicks to trick the overweight people to buy their products by "promising" lasting results.
MLM is approved in 2001 but our government make it a loophole to compulsory a refund of membership fee and such within 60 days so that people can calm down and think twice b4 joining MLM.

no doubt it's mlm in terms of business practices [founder paved the way to be one that does direct selling], yet its marketing methods are unheard of in other mlms [but seen in other consumer product companies; ie endorsements, sponsorships, but no advertisements directly promoting products, at the most events only]
from a neutral POV, besides the traditional mlm, other selling methods involve health n wellness cum nutrition centre/clubs/consultancy services, outside of retailing. and usually the former is more business-oriented and pushy [for gaining connections esp, like what kenn3th encountered], while the latter functions more like a consultancy, almost nil of pushing for more connections/recruitment and the like [unless got ppl request]
and as with all other stuff big and small, cheap and expensive, it is best to incorporate exercise, drinking lots of plain water and balanced diet for the best effects

they were actually one of the sponsors during one of the NDPs previously?
glenc, the advert [which is seen only this year mid] was to promote their extravaganza event only, inside and outside of the train. no mention of any product at all
